You're welcome. I expect a full mock-up of a better design in the morning.

Perhaps something where the magnet/phone could be positioned not to block any controls, and as little of the vents as possible. Maybe something like this:

Storage bin with speaker off. That removes all temptation to do anything but drive. I have a separate windshield-mount Garmin for navigation when I need it.

Too many times I see idiot drivers w/ GPS planted smack dab in middle of their field of vision... cord loosely draped down to boot. So not only now is vision blocked but cords can also easily get tangled in steering wheel or control stocks.

Sometimes people are their own punishment...
