Where do you mount your SmartPhone?

I'm looking for a good place to mount my iPhone 7 Plus on the Box. I don't want to mount on the dashboard for obvious reasons. Some of the vent mounts may actually destroy the vents. Is the only alternative to use a windshield suction mount?

Any creative ideas out there?

My pocket. If using GPS, I just follow voice commands and there is no other reason for the phone to be out.

I bought one of these for each car. It was half price in Nov.

The head swivels too so you can turn it towards you.

Having replaced the center stack cupholder once in my '03, I am reluctant to try a vent mount and risk the weight of the phone breaking a vent, so I use the storage bin. I don't ever want to take all that apart ever again. But since I'm traveling down the slippery slope of HPDE, I have a RAM mount on my list of goodies to get, so I can use the Harry's lap timer app.

Another vote for storage bin. No offense, but I think those vent holders remind me of folks who walk around with belt clip phone holders. Just looks a little geeky.

Use a Kuda mount ... designed specifically for the car. Catalog shows black only, but other colors available special order. Nice German guy in Dallas.

You buy the mount for your car, then screw the holder for your specific phone to the mount. Both available at the site.

How do you guys who store the phone in your storage bin actually look at the phone? It's pretty helpful to glance at the map screen as your driving, especially if you have the top down and you can't hear the crappy iPhone audio?

The Kuda mount looks cool, but you have to look down at the console to view the phone screen. Also, they don't have it in my Cocoa color.

The Schorche suction cup magnetic mount works great. Very solid and useful when running the Waze app or other gps apps.

In my briefcase or backpack. Never look at it when I'm driving.

Don't get me wrong, I love my phone and texting, talking, social media, forums, and the internet in general. Just not when I'm driving. Driving is my zen time.

In the storage bin below the stereo, or if I need to be able to access it a bit easier, glance at it and listen to it more closely for doing gps navigation, standing up in the opened ashtray. (Sometimes upside down in the ashtray, since my phone's loudspeaker is at the bottom edge.)

Pocket.
Memorize a map if I need to.
Hate people fiddling with their cellphone while driving.

Scosche-magicMOUNT..... magnet base stuck to the left of the radio. Thin magnet attached to phone: very clean set up that keeps the phone well in my sight line. I have a few vehicles and put a mount in each so the phone can go easily from car to car- bought mine at Staples/ Office Max for $12

I stick it in the crevice between the bottom side and center cushions. If a passenger is there, next to the e-brake.

I like the magnet mounts, I've got one in my Touareg but haven't quite been able to get one to work in the Box (I tried the vent one, no good). So I just leave it in the storage bin.

These look interesting, if not expensive ($45), from Rennline. They have a flange that seems to mount between the console and the storage bin. Personally I think it's a waste (and dangerous) to be that low, as you need to look down. I prefer it up higher as I use the phone for GPS, wondering if there's a way to clamp it to the dash surround. (I hate sticking anything permanent to the dash).
