very strange. these things just slide right out; there really isn't any force involved. there is a 10mm bolt; once it's removed, the entire sensor will slide out of the steering knuckle without a problem. if it is genuinely seized, i would drill the center of it and try to install a self-tapping screw that you can use to lever the sensor out of the knuckle. if that fails, you may have to remove the hub to get at the back of the sensor.

FYI, the part numbers:

If you have PSM for ANY year OR if you do NOT have PSM and your car is 1997 - 2001, the part number is 996.606.406.00 and lists for $100 (Sunset Imports should have it for under $70).

If you do NOT have PSM AND your car is an '02 or newer, you need part number 996.606.407.02 which lists for $82 (Sunset should have it for under $65).
