ABS Speed Sensor

Need some advice.
I was trying to remove the left front ABS speed sensor and I managed to snap it off. It was frozen in the knuckle/wheel bearing housing/ strut tower support- what ever it's called. I was trying to loosen it with liquid wrench over the course of a few days. I had a little movement but then I put a little too much pressure... snap. It's pretty much flush with the machined surface that it is fastened to. I don't know what the part looks like so I'm not sure how to attempt to remove the remaining portion- if that is even possible.
No ABS is not the end of the world, but it sure would be nice.

ps: yes, I know, dumb move.

very strange. these things just slide right out; there really isn't any force involved. there is a 10mm bolt; once it's removed, the entire sensor will slide out of the steering knuckle without a problem. if it is genuinely seized, i would drill the center of it and try to install a self-tapping screw that you can use to lever the sensor out of the knuckle. if that fails, you may have to remove the hub to get at the back of the sensor.

FYI, the part numbers:

If you have PSM for ANY year OR if you do NOT have PSM and your car is 1997 - 2001, the part number is 996.606.406.00 and lists for $100 (Sunset Imports should have it for under $70).

If you do NOT have PSM AND your car is an '02 or newer, you need part number 996.606.407.02 which lists for $82 (Sunset should have it for under $65).
