mustang

arrived at the airport here in Orlando and asked for a sub compact. The high price of gas has apparently made these desireable. They offered me a mustang as they were out of the gas pump friendly cars.A shiny red base Mustang was sitting there for me.

I said OK!

Then I drove it

this thing handles like a dump truck. Steering feels 30 pounds heavier and and it lumbers, it doesn't smoothly accelrate at all. Braking is fair, on and off. Not much feedback to be had from the steering by the way. Suspension is hard.
Also the stock ride height make a Boxster driver feel like he's sitting in the big foot monster truck.

Baically there is nothing I like about this car from a driver's point of view.

BUT BEATS THE HECK OUT OF NEON!

p.s.
I think the rental car dudes put in a rev limiter. It redlines at 6,ooo and I haven't seen the slushbox let go past 4,000

I assume this is the 6 cylinder model. Keep in mind it retails for under $20K.

I agree it rides like a truck though.

There are tons of rental mustangs here in FL, maybe more than actual residents the last good Mustang convert I drove (rented her in FL actually) was way back in 93 I think. they steadily went down hill from there, yep better than a neon not nearly as nice as our boxsters!

How long you in Orlando for? Sending you a PM.
