The main aspect of this part is aerodynamics. Also it protects the under side of your car. As you're living in the USA and have ridicoulous speed limits the aerodynamics aspect might not be important. If you track the car i would replace it.

Of all the wrecked boxsters I get, I've only had a handful that came in with that last cover that wasn't broke. Heck, 1/3 of the boxster that come in don't even have that last one anymore. Same thing goes for the L shaped cover. They don't really get brittle because they don't get any sunlight to them. Other plastic part on these cars do though. I suggest buying new from your local dealer if their prices are reasonable. Only because shipping a used one might be expensive. So much so that the price might not be worth the little bit of savings. I think suncoast has them for like $125ish.
