Possible if you had weeks

But to get the hood open I used a phillips screwdriver with tape on the side and connected the ground lead to the door latch and it gave enough power to open the hood and then it was a simple task to connect the charger directly to the battery

Yeah but his hood latch is broke. He has been trying to get it open for a few days.

Sorry , did not know that...how about the wire release tucked around the bumper somewhere (seems to be in different places)
