Unfortunately if you desire a wing you need the underside space where the low pressure is generated. That means air space under it. Otherwise one ends with a spoiler lip...

Whether or not the wing is the right shape down force value or actual works is a whole other matter...

I kinda like the bi-plane look

That Rieger spoiler is " close " to what I want but I do not want a space between the top of the OEM blade and the bottom of the spoiler. Basically I want a mini ducktail where the base/bottom of the ducktail mounts to the top of the OEM blade. So when the ducktail is in the down/parked mode it looks like the spoiler that started this discussion. And then when it is in the up position you would see the blade and the ducktail in the up position but they would look like they are one.

The problem is non factory spoilers/wings may give you a look you want, but unless they have done wind tunnel testing with a particular shape, you could really mess up the cars high speed handling and safety.

I know a guy who does his Cayman aero testing at University wind tunnel here......he is a World Challenge driver so he actually needs and utilizes it.

...So if you are into fostering thesis study work head to your nearest universiy wind tunnel and get your wings and splitters on......baby

I have one but it came from Fla. Perfect color match.Better than OEM ? It doesn`t like crosswinds at speed.

I can't read the original post because someone is on my ignore list, but I know the spoiler.

Fit and function are terrible. Looks stupid. Another FAIL by OP. Nice job screwing up your cars aerodynamics.
What good is that teeny little thing supposed to be? Hahaha!

That is kind of my point.

You hang this crap on the car and who knows what it will do aerodynamically.
Could improve or could degrade and possibly make it unsafe

It's a little like the "tuners" that put these big wings on a front wheel drive car.
Do they actually give any performance improvement or just look dumb ass stupid?

Might as well bolt on some potatoes to improve the performance
(not picking on you Charles)

The OP of the thread.
At least he has finally figured out how to post things in the correct section.
Yeah, I'm being a bit juvenile

Reading through this thread got me looking for some good wind tunnel pics online, which led me to the TECHART Gallery.
When it comes to high performance automotive mods, I am fairly ignorant, but the same basic principles that apply to aircraft should apply here. High speed and low speed flow will be different and changing the shape of one part alone, may have an undesired effect in other areas.
Want a new spoiler? Why not spoil the whole car:

Yes the thin skinned particlewave blocked me because he got schooled when he scolded me for posting something where he, the the self appointed police of pubs, didnt think I should post because it "Cluttered" the pub. I told him scolding people cluttered the pub and hence, yes he ignored me like a typical anal pub rat.

I like the spoiler, I could care less abut "performance" since I live in LA where you are lucky to ever go over 50 miles an hour. it looks so much better than nothing since my spoiler never deploys.

Not very smart to pick a fight with one of the most productive members of this forum.

You want to be a jerk like the Jonathan Lumphead, go right ahead. See how far it gets you in people helping you.

As I am in LA often, other than rush hour, you generally can go much faster than 50.
Just don't kill or injure anyone else because you put some dumb looking piece of plastic on your car and it makes it unstable

Hey I am not the one who started things by first ignoring someone who didnt accept his self appointed policing activity and then bring it up on a conversation I started months later. A little short sighted of you boys to suggest I started it by insulting your grand master. secondly, I simply said I like the spoiler and for me it works well. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Having a lot of useless posts does not make one a "productive" contributor. Helping people with information and experience does. Amazing enough, the spoiler I showed is very similar to the spyder spoiler. Again, I just shared that I liked it, it fit very well and the paint was perfect. It also looks much better. Take it or leave it. Telling people things are stupid is just more of you trying to force your opinions on others. Typical behavior from people who spend way to much time on pubs. Now, can we get back to being useful?

I do believe Particlewave is one of the most helpful posters here

As far as the rest refer to post #36

to clarify
Putting aero stuff on a car without doing aerodynamic testing or at very least calculations using computational fluid dynamics applications will yield you unknown results and could be dangerous causing for example instability and then causing the car to go out of control putting innocent people at risk

If it was aero from Porsche, to probably has been tested from outers, especially crap from china, unlikely it was tested

And the only thing I do in a Pub is drink beer
