Abarth or Mini JCW. Should I?

Thinking about adding to the fleet. The Mini has the usual issues (crap rubber, headlight clouding, etc.) that are easy fixes. The Abarth is pretty close to perfect and still has 30 months warranty. With the Abarth a few cheap mods gets these cars to 200 hp. Not bad since they weigh about 2500 pounds. Both dealers are asking $13k with a little room. What do you think?

Garage
Go with the Abarth
Newer, less miles, lighter, and Abarth upgrades...

I'd vote for the JCW Mini S.

I had a 2003 JCW Mini S and it was a blast to drive (185hp, great suspension, and reasonably reliable).

I'm partial to the Abarth, but then I have a 500 in my stable so I may be biased.

My wife has a 2007 Mini Cooper S she bought new. She only has 33,000 miles on it but it has been flawless. My vote would be for the Mini. As soon as the new BMW M2 is out we're going to do a European delivery on one and sell the Mini.

Right now we are leaning towards the Abarth simply because of the low miles and warranty. I've found a number of them with less then 10k on them. I get the impression a lot of people by these as toys. What is also amazing is the level of depreciation the Abarth sees in a short time. I guess that's what happens when new ones are discounted $5k to $6k.

The JCW Mini is mighty tempting. My daughter has a base Mini and it a lot of fun to drive.

I ended up with this super clean Copper S which I picked you in Tucsan and bought home today. I really like the color combo and the Hyper Sport package (body kit and sport suspension) which gives it a different look. With the extra car it's time to repaint the calipers on the Boxster.
