Blacked out Amber
So, I am going to be getting the full set of Blacked out lights from RedTele58's car and I'm pretty sure they are going on my black '99.
On my '99 it will look a lot like this, but without the aero kit, hard top, and wheels. I may go with my stock 17s or put on my black 18s with a chrome lip.
Just playing with Photoshop I blacked out my (wife's) white car. I like it, but my wife says, "A girl needs lipstick." (leave the amber)
So.... Your and my opinion don't matter much, but what do you think?

I like my lits that are de-ambered, but the amber looks better than blacked out.*
*that's like, just my opinion, man......

Also not a fan of tinting turn signals (no offense to you or Rick). If I had to pick one, they look better on a black car.
Your wife's car needs clears that have also been de-ambered. Orange on white is just...

I think it will look better on your black one. I personally have never liked the " panda " look

As you are soliciting opinions I will assume that you want honest ones both for and against and that you aren't just looking for an "atta boy".
I've seen the blacked-out amber on a few cars, both pics and real, and I think it looks absolutely heinous, cringe-worthy, and completely ruins the look of the car. Couldn't possibly look more trailer park unless maybe you added a plywood-and-hockeystick rear spoiler.
But, it's your car so the only opinion that matters in the end is your own.

I was going to say if I had a car that looked like that, I'd de-amber it's ass and make it drive backwards, but I figured I'd be nice.

I have mine blacked out. We removed the headlights and actually taped off and professionally sprayed the amber with black paint and then clear coated and baked them. Most on this forum find it to be ugly as stated above. The amber is hideous in my opinion. The amber runs with absolutely nothing on the car. Most black boxes have black tops, and silver wheels. Then you just have random orange tossed in. The amber does not flow at all. Once taken away the overall theme of the car in many cases is revived and you no longer are sporting a Halloween Boxster. At least the orange in the stock tails is a bit more subtle.
Edit: In the case of your wifes car the argument of flow remains the same. The car has a black and white theme. White paint, white decal on windshield, black wheels, black grills, black top, black vents, black decal on rear quarters, and then BOOM! ORANGE in the headlights and side markers. Does. Not. Fit.

Is that spoiler available on eBay? With some fine sanding and enough clear-coat it would be sharp.
...
KRAM, you see this thing yet?

Actually, the amber on a black car matches the colors of the German flag. The black, red and amber are for Germans the same as our red, white and blue. Personally on a black car, I prefer the amber and it adds to the color scheme of a German produced car, it doesn't take away.

Be careful. It has been known to create massive understeer on some vehicles

I was laughing while reading Mark's post, but I agree with him.
That's a sweet wing in the pic! Timco how did you know I'm the guy on the left?

Just my 2 cents worth . . . 3 cents Canadian
The guy down the street has a completely blacked out late model Corvette right down to the paint scheme being an almost flat black. It looks like a stealth fighter or maybe Darth Vader's daily ride. It looks heavy and unwieldy.
If that is the look being attempted than going all black is appropriate but I'm not sure if it won't become tired looking real fast.
Again, just one persons opinion.

What shade of Krylon spray did they choose there?
p.s.
Someone good with vinyl graphics needs to come up with a solution for the amber.
I'm sure they could print a photo quality image of clear lenses that will still allow light to shine through.

At least with the Boxster he only has to take out one of his wives at a time.
