Car Sound
I just discovered this new sound in my car... 2001 3.2L S
It's coming from the back and I have no idea what it is.
It's the whinny noise at 2 seconds and at 9 seconds of the video.
The 9 second one is better.
My phone captured it well but the upload kind of made it quieter but you can hear it if you listen carefully.

In the video the car was sitting still. Was the car actually moving during the sound part?

Weird, it sounds like a bird or mouse. A surprise passenger perhaps?
Seriously, did it happen at a certain RPM?
Does it only do it while moving or also while parked?

Sounds like some type of bushing squeak to me. I'd check the motor mount first.

Could be a cat!, oh wait... not on this forum. No, it's definitely not a cat.

tried many many times to try to recreate the sound but it just happens randomly. Like at lower rpms OR maybe my exhaust system drowns out the noise. Either way, only notice it when i shift from N to 1st at low rpms and from 1st to 2nd at low rpms. it happens maybe 1/2 the time. does not sound when parked though.

It's not a distinctive metallic rattle but more like a sympathy rattle to me. Could be coming from an accessory like the AC compressor, or part of the exhaust system (or bushing as previously mentioned) responding to a rhythmic vibration in the engine. Even a mildly flapping belt.
