tracked a Cayman R!

I did the Exotic Racing at the Fontana CA track The car I drove was the Porsche Cayman R, the smallest, lightest car they offer, with only 330 HP, and PDK. Everybody else was driving the Ferraris and Lambos. My best lap was 1:05 on 1.2 mile track, Best lap time ever is 58 sec by a professional driver in the Porsche GT3. So I feel pretty good about my times.

I passed three cars that I caught up to (all with much younger drivers, I'm 57) They were an Audi R8 (525HP), a Lamborgini Superleggera (570HP) and a Porsche 911 Turbo (520HP). Passing the 911 was the best! It would pull away from me on the strait with its faster speed. But then I would break later, catch it in the curves, and finally got around it. As we passed it the instructor said "Don't let it catch back up to us!" They never had a chance!

Can't wait to try it again in the GT3.

My Video of the experience is here on Youtube.

Critique away on my driving!

Looked like a great time. Love how you picked up the intensity on that Lexus. Very nice run!

Looks like fun Surf40, the Cay R is a personal favorite car for me. With PDK I just use Sport + mode and let the car do the shifting. It is way better than I am.

Come back out to Fontana and drive the big track with us next month at the Festival of speed. Luchtime laps are a $20 donation to charity and you get several laps on the full IRL road course. Lots more Porsche stuff to see and do all weekend.

What a fun experience. Watching it I was thinking about my experience in a formula car at Skip Barber School at Laguna Seca. Best three days of fun ever.

Good job on your drive. You were really hitting those apexes nicely. I love the squealing tires when you approach the limit. Nice work and a fun drive from what I have seen. Advantage!!

still a tad pole!

They should pick up a Boxster Spyder too. This professional ALMS driver took both out onto a karting track to emphasize grip/handling since both have more or less the same power and weight. The results surprised.

I want a run in an Aventador. Single clutch!

Great driving!

Looks to me like its time for you to bring your Boxster to the big track and play with us.
