Hi,

You definitely need the extension. It comes as Part of the Hardtop kit from the dealer. If you get a secondhand Top, most likely the harness extension didn't come with it. Also for the GAHH Top same deal so you need to pick one up - very cheap as Porsche Parts go...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

reply from GAHH...

"That part number: 986-612-315-00 is the one you need to get, which will work, and is not too short.
We have installed it here, and that part # works fine." per info@GAHH.com

hey jim...

that part no. from GAHH is listed for $160 from dealer and called a "cable loom." It assume it to just be an extension of the $12 wiring harness ??...seems a bit pricey ..GAHH did tell me that they will be manufacturing their own wiring kit within the next three months.

Seems my post dissappeared. BadBoyS, I am getting it installed at Clover. They were referred to me by Stoddard. I don't think Stoddard does installations at the dealership. Just ordered my wiring "cable loom" and should have the top on next week. FYI-I called Fred Baker Porsche-and they told me that they don't do any non-OEM installations and didn't recommend that I put any aftermarket top on-big surprise, huh...

LOL ,

Freddie likes his cash to stay in house!!! Wow as you know Stoddard is the one who gave me the best price and said they were going to do it (Bring someone in) Is Clover in Eastlake? I must assume the story has changed now. I was waiting to do this at the dealer (going to have fuel filter changed and an all wheel alignment.) Maybe NOT... If you would post how it goes.. Good Luck... It will be getting warm soon (at least thats what i keep telling myself)!!!!!!!!
