Bran, I wholeheartedly agree! IMO, that is a perfect outlaw. Very hot looking car. Congrats!

i'm working on outlaw membership - ruf wheels, de-ambered w murdered hood crest, gt3 crested seats w six-point harnesses, suspension done, intake and tune done, rowdy exhaust, ac out, power steering out, smog out, most of the insulation out. working on the door panels and the stereo will go when they change out (head unit to be replaced by gauges). going to pull the airbags and put a clubsport steering wheel in when i do that. lw flywheel and lsd when the transmission is out next. etc.

Here’s a different take on “outlaw”: https://starkespeedster.com
“The Stärke Revolution Speedster is a bespoke, handcrafted, vintage styling, body & interior conversion that is available exclusively for the 1997-2012 Porsche® Boxster.”

Hate how this term is banded around. By definition a car can't be an "outlaw" because the definition is a person acting outside the law, hence "outlaw".

Back in the day there used to be guys who would basically race prep cars and then run them on the street, normally racing each other in the process. They became outlaws because of their actions, not the cars.

You can have all the styling cues in the world on your car but if you drive like Hoke Colburn then it's definitely not outlaw. Outlaw is an attitude not a car.

I have to disagree. While I wouldn't buy one, I applaud the concept.

I received the new Excellence Magazine a couple of days ago and there is a full page ad for this car in there. I hope it is a fully engineered conversion, after reading LS376's thread on the Renegade LS conversion and all that he had to do to make it work! And at least it is converting a Porsche to another Porsche. A few years ago there was an article about a guy who made his Boxster into a Karmann Ghia. That was just wrong, that conversion should have been done on an Audi TT, as the Audi TT is the actual successor to the Karmann Ghia.

I like the Stärke Revolution Speedster but it's not for me!

If there is such a thing as a Boxster Outlaw, then it stands to reason that there must also be a Boxster In-law

RK - I haven't seen what you've been doing with your car before. It looks great!

How about starting a thread about what all you've done with lots of pictures?

Please?!

It is a much better concept than the VW based Speedster kits.

I like the concept of taking a very inexpensive, easily available Porsche and re-making (do I dare say "re-imagining"?) it into something with greater performance, visual appeal, and marketability.

With that being said, I don't think that the world needs yet another 356 replica and thus, I would have rather seen a re-design of the Boxster itself into a more sporting, aggressive, and appealing design.

In another 25 years, I'll buy the kit to convert a 718 into a simple, clean 986.

I'm a fun of outlaw Porsches, thinking about the concept for my 986. Maybe Magnus will show us some inspiration soon? Pegasus decals and wheel spacers and studs are on my short list now...

Well at least it's not a rust-o-mod, or forbid, rat-rod. Actually, maybe that could be cool... A rusted/ratted 986. Not for me, but would like to see a pic!
