Boxster Is Back!!!!Dead Again...

Hi Guys,
Today,I went and picked up my boxster. It has a brand new factory rebuilt engine in it.The total bill from this shop was $13,500.The guy sais I need to keep it under 3500 rpms and under 80 mph for 2000-3000 miles which kinda sucks.

Now Gentleman, you all know my most recent luck with cars.Well,it continues

So,I pick up my car and get around a quarter mile away and it stalls at the red light.I try restarting and it just stalls immediatly. So,I puch the car accross the four lane highway with people yelling remaks such as "peice of ********************" and "get the fu*k off the road".The car is acting like it is out of gas even though it reads almost full so I buy a small gas tank and walk to get it filled.I try restarting and it seems to start but stays around 500 rpms wanting to stall.

The shop owner drove over and released the engine cover to look around and tryed starting it with his foot on the gas revving to around 2500 rpms and the engine just had an odd sound but stayed running.

It got towed to the shop and he will take a look and call me tommarro.I wonder if there is something the old shop could have put in my gas to mess it up???

Talking

Man that does suck!

Years back I bought a new factory motor for a Corvette. Drove it 5 miles from the service shop and it died on the Interstate.

To say I was angry is an understatment.

Fortunately, that guy has me towed in and fixed the issue in five minutes, loose wire!

Go figure.

The upside is was that that factory motor was a RACE motor and ran like a B....!

Maybe your story will turn out as well!

Good luck!

Wow.

That blows.

You are living one of the worst nightmare's ever.

On a positive note, it's probably just a loose wire.

So they installed a NEW Factory motor with 0 miles on it?

$13,500 included labor and the motor?

How much was just the motor from Porsche?

Was size motor?

Thanks,

KRZ

Frank, that does suck. Don't get too worked-up...tomorrow is a new day! I think the shop will take care of you.

How did you pay the bill...by check...or credit card??

Break that new engine in as directed! A little restrant now will hopefully afford you many years of good service. A small price to pay actually.

record the mileage before you leave and take the car directly to the nearest Porsche dealer and have full systems check to see if these guys didn't break something else while tinkering in there.

If you wait to long they'll wash their hands of it.

Its only $100 to have a certified Porsche mechanic do a full once over.
