I hate to admit it, but when I bought my current P-Car it was the first one of that type that I looked at..... I absolutely KNEW I was going to buy it the moment the seller opened the garage door, there was no question about it.

That's not how I usually do things, lucky for me it turned out fine.

After looking at 4 996's, I drove a 986 and felt that was the best car for me at the time. Then I drove about 6 986's (both S and base models) before I bought my first 986 base.

Also embarrassed to admit that I bought the first Boxster I went to see. It was unusually well presented in a Craigs list ad, extremely clean, obviously well taken care of, drove well and passed my inspection and a PPI with no issues. I believe I was just searching for a nice clean 2nd car of various makes when this one came up. Could have ended up with an MGB, Miata, 2002, but glad it turned out to be the Box!

I did buy the first Boxster that I went and saw. I was looking for a small fun sporty cars. I test drove a Z4 and thought it was pretty fun. I really liked it. Driving home I saw my Boxster on a Porsche lot. I stopped by and looked and took it for a test drive. I was hooked but decided that I shouldn't buy the first car I found. I left and over the course of a few weeks test drove 4 other Boxsters. Then the dealer of the first one wanted to get rid of it before winter so I got (what I think) a pretty good deal on it. Great car. Only major problem i have had is that I cracked the plastic window this winter, so now I am going to put a new top on with a glass window.

Stopped in Boise on the way to Oregon to visit my daughter, and looked at/test drove the one I later ended up buying, which was being advertised on ebay by a private seller. Went on to Portland, looked at 3 more at used car dealerships (YUCK!!!). All overpriced crap . Bought the peachy one in Boise (luckily someone else didn't snap it up before me!). New AGM battery, 18" Carrera rims and Michelin Pilot SS tires, new brake rotors and pads, new ROW MO30 suspension, new windshield, clutch, flywheel, etc, etc, for $14,750! (2003 S)

I bought my first P-car in '95. An '85 1/2 944. I loved that car! It had all the goodies! Too bad a guy in a Chevy Cavalier crashed into me and totaled it. I the bought an '86 944 and traded it in for a Honda 3 years later. In 2001 I bought an '88 944. I sold it 3 years later to a friend at work.
In 2010 He sold the car back to me. I kept it for a year. I was looking for a nicer daily driver and during the shopping process, came upon some boxsters. I test drove one, and upon realizing that it was ALOT nicer that my 944, promptly traded it in!

Originally I looked for a mid 70's to mid 80's 911. About 15k when I noticed that I could buy a newer Boxster 1997 to 2000 for the same money in 2007. I looked at 10 Boxsters over the next 2 years but ended up buying a 1974 911 while on vacation in TN. I love the car but it is an older car. I kept looking for the right Boxster and this last December I found a non running 2003 base that I could get on the road and still be on the positive side if I decide to sell it. This P car hobby is getting expensive.

I looked for 3 months, and found the 2000 S I was looking for.
No ppi.
It was the first Boxster I ever drive. And I never thought I would buy a Yellow one, i figured black or silver.
Under 10k, private sale, recent AOS replacement and transmission rebuild.
It ran great, and still runs great! over 5k miles put on it since August.

I love the car, got lucky, and haven't regretted it for a second.
