Angry Automatic Trans cooler

Anyone know how the valve on the automatic transmission cooler works on our cars? Is the default open/closed ???
and when does it changed?

Depending upon transmission and engine coolant temps, the Tip controller opens the coolant valve, so it is closed at low temps, but open at higher temps. The solenoid is activated when the trans oil reaches 185F, or the engine reaches 194F. The solenoid closes when the trans falls below 167F or the engine temp below 176F.
