Question about cam chain replacement

In freshening up a 100K+ mile 5-chain 3.2 S engine, it has been suggested to replace cam chains as a precautionary move. In racing motorcycles, it has long been generally accepted that installing a new drive chain on older sprockets results in greatly accelerated wear as the new chain tries to bed-in to the wear patterns of the sprockets. This makes me wonder if it might be better to live with the old chains (if there is no apparent problem with them, and stretch is within acceptable parameters) rather than install new ones. Replacing the sprockets in the engine is way beyond the work and expense we intend to undertake with this project.

Any knowledgeable advice on this subject? Thanks for input.
