I work for a Fortune 100 company, and never drive my Porsche to work due to how it may be perceived by those who just wouldn't understand. This includes those both above and below me in status, for different reasons. Some day when I'm no longer on the corporate teat (and don't have to shuttle kids around), I'll get rid of my commuter car and drive my Porsche every day!

I only use the Box if the truck is getting tires or something. When I have stopped by a job on my way to the shop, customers always kid, but seriously. "Wow...I wish I had a Porsche"...(doctor) Then the maintenance manager for a huge account acted the same way. Told him it was way less than his damn Range Rover (new) and he says doesn't matter...you have a Porsche. No more car to any jobs. Just the old service truck.

Senior Manager System Control for a cargo and passenger airline. We haul F-1 and Moto Gp all around the world as part of our business. I never know what I might face when I walk in the door. It's like being a fireman.

Small business owner in the pool and spa industry in California. I sold off my dealership in 2005 and now my crew does service, repair and weekly maintenance. This is much easier to manage and my weekends are mostly open with more freedom to travel. Kids are all grown and gone so cash flow is a lot easier to manage as well.
I had sorta planned to be retired by now but I filled my weekends with an expensive hobby called Porsche motorsport. Still gotta pay for tires. My other hobby tends to pay for itself so far:

Strategic planning / special projects VP for an insurance company. Still trying to figure out what it all means.
The approving looks I get at the company car lot helps me believe I'm important.

I own an office equipment company. I dont take my car to work as I have had people say now I see why you charge so much for a service call.

Present job: Retired at 55. I'm into my first full year of retirement.
What do I do?
1. I spend my time in 3 locations
- Bay Area
- LA/Orange County
- Hawaii
If not in one of the three areas I'm traveling. When I'm at home I play with my cars. When I'm not playing with my cars I'm planning my next road trip.
Past: Information Technology 15 yrs Senior Manager Client Services
Past: Retired US Army 23 yrs of service
