97s were supposedly not able to handle the added stress of larger than stock 17" wheels. A long time ago there was a forum member named Grizz who ran 19s on his 97 Box and he said in his sig that he was "cheating death" by doing so. Not sure what happened to him. He worked for the Secret Service or the MD State Patrol. Hope he didn't have a job related accident or one of his wheels fell off. He always had great stories.

Meat Head - those wheels look great on your Box. I had a set on my previous CS. Simple but stylish look. And very easy to clean. I like that in a wheel.

Meat Head!! Looks great!!

Where in Indy?

Husker:

Porsche changed the physical chassis strength with stronger steel in the frame rails.

If I had more time, I'd show you the 3D rendering they sent to all the Porsche dealerships showing the difference (but I don't have easy access to the computer with the .jpg on it)

I almost forgot to mention the skyline is Louisville Kentucky. There is a really cool ice cream shop right next to a park overlooking the Ohio River. It's a fun destination for the wife and I when we are going out for a drive in the Box. I live approximately 20 miles North of Louisville in Southern Indiana. It's a very small country town but it is nice to live so close to two large cities like Louisville (20min) and Indianapolis (1.5hrs).

Thanks for the complements on the wheels! I'm very happy with them. Wheels are something you just don't know for 100% sure you are going to like until they are on the car.

When are they? If they don't compete with the Huskers, I'll swing by.

I can't believe someone didn't recognize the Louisville skyline. We don't have any Louisville Kentucky Boxster owners on here?

I guess that would explain the reason that I have yet to see 1 986 since the purchase of mine nearly 6 months ago. I always find it odd when members of this board call Boxsters common and easy to find for sale in pristine condition for cheap. Boxsters are not very common in my demographic.
