When to replace brake pads

If it were me, I would take it to a quality brake shop (NOT MIDAS ETC.) that knows Porsche.

Sounds like you need pads but an inspection is the only real way to know.

Stock pads are fine.

My 99 does it as well. I would not worry about it so much as long as the brake feel is normal. I notice mine does it when its cold outside and as it heats up(longer I drive,outside temp.) it does not do it. As soon as the brake start feeling funny I would take it in.

HI,

You want to make sure that you are not applying the Brakes too lightly. Doing so can Glaze the pads and they'll squeal. If it happens, apply the Brakes a little more firmly and you should be fine. Hope this helps...
