Twice I've taken the car out, and to operating temperature. Now... I didn't install the barrier on the left side or right side of the trunk... just under the middle piece of wood.

I have noticed a reasonably substantial mitigation of heat. I put my hand on top of the carpet, in the middle... and it most certainly is less HOT... likewise the ambient trunk air when I open the trunk lid. So... it worked for me. One of these days again I'll pull up all the trunk carpet... and finish off the two sides.
