I am replacing the stock struts and springs on my 02 S for bilstein B8’s and h&r lowering springs. I will also get new mounts, bellows, bump stops and axle bolts. Anything else I should get?
Thanks,
David
If I recall correctly, when I lowered themy 00 S years ago the same wat,, I didn’t need them. When I lowered my old 996 C4S I did. I swear it’s the same set up. Could it be the b8’s? I got bilstein specifically for those springs.
i think it has to do with what you expect for toe when the work is all done. as you lower the toe arm approaches horizontal and, in effect, becomes longer which increases toe in. you can compensate by adjusting the eccentric, but it doesn't have a lot of range of adjustment and might not get you to where you want to be.
I have B6’s and HR springs. Tarrett adjustable rear toe control arms did almost nothing for me. Without them with 0’d out toe my negative camber was -2.7 to -2.8 and with them it was -2.4 to -2.6. Waste of money in my case
Thanks everyone and RK for explanation, very helpful. I’ll pick up a set.
Now what if I decide to do adjustable coilovers? I would lower an inch.
I’m guessing just the tow arms but anything else?
