They do! To make you feel better, call a dealer and ask for a quote and list all of the services you just did. The tools are practically free in that case with money left over

As steved0x mentioned, you would spend more to do those services from a shop. So you probably saved money over all even buying the tools and the parts.

I have always used buying new tools as one of the benefits for doing my own work. Of course the satisfaction and true feel of ownership comes into play as well

Yes. Buying the right tool and doing the job yourself is priceless.
