Changed my oil. took me 4 days
It's been 7 month and some where around 3000 miles Why 4 days, I dropped the sump plate. I did it last year to check. I still need to cut the filter and examine but the sump was super clean. I'm much happier with this locktite 5900 application then last years. Last time was on my back, colder weather, trying to apply to engine side. I wanted to kill my self This year I applied to the plate side. At least I could stand up and apply That Locktite plunger system is the worst possible way to apply this stuff. Trying to push the plunger, maintain a steady hand and a small bead is painful. This stuff will not flow through the 1.5mm hole. I got-her done though so now I can sort of relax. I still nerviously check for any signs of leaking |
Finished replacing my rotors and painting the calipers.

If I ever do this again I am going to use the Drei-bond which comes in a metal tube with a winding type handle built in to help force out the sealant. Steve |
Just got home from a trip to Ottawa, seeing my son. The roads in northern Ontario are amazing compared to SW Ontario, down home all the roads were laid out in nice straight grids. I found one road with at least 3 km of Back and forth twisting roads, I couldn't get it out of 3rd gear. What a blast.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1435023071.jpg
Over 6 hours of driving, get there, averaged 27.5 mpg, not to bad http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1435023208.jpg |
Forks of the Credit is a nice, twisty drive with Hockley Valley not too far away (between Erin and Orangeville). That is a nice drive. Far closer than Ottawa to fill the void till you can go back. (The Gatineau hills are a cool drive in the fall)

I replaced the driver's side break light (bulb). I looked a YouTube and other places looking for instructions, because there is a lot of really good stuff out there. But there is no need to remove the taillight housing from the car. I did it all right from the trunk.

Yesterday I did the 30 second install of the comfort top module. Love it!

987 spoiler and motor assembly came in last week & got the chance to paint and install. A few pictures I was able to snap this morning.

They're a bit much for me to paint on my own so hopefully will be having those fitted and painted soon(along with a GT3 front bumper). http://s12.postimg.org/43d8rtrgd/20150624_064513.jpg |
That 987 spoiler looks great!
No problem to open the trunk with that new spoiler? What paint did you use? |

I've always used Rustoleum primer and DupliColor paint for little projects and I swear you wouldn't notice it was a rattle can job. A good 2-4 hours of wet-sanding with 1500-2500-3000grit gets rid of all the orange peel and a nice buff at the end. Ill snap some pics of the paint when I get home |
Drove to the PCA 60th in French Lick, Indiana
Quite a nice variety of P-cars. I took the following images:

I went to the Euro show in Central New York. I don't know why I got stuck between two turbos. My headlights must look that cool !! |
I attended a club BBQ in my Boxster S. The club is for British Cars, and I renewed my membership just before selling my 1998 Jaguar XK8 convertible and buying the Porsche (not in that order, but I did not own four cars for very long !)http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1435260651.jpg

I mounted today my 10-spoke Carrera chrome wheels, I love them!

Replaced the alternator which was back from the shop for repair, fitted a new serpentine belt at the same time and then took for a gentle test drive..... And then a faster test drive once I knew all was ok 😃

Washed and vacuumed it. The wash ended up revealing that the hood has a decent number of tiny white chips in the paint. Black car not a huge surprise but it must have been buffed out by the previous owner and now my first wash has revealed it. It's not that bad but will probably try to buff them out a bit myself. If anyone has any good suggestions on the best approach I'm all ears.
