Installed a TopSpeed cat back muffler system. 2hrs of easy diy work.

Coffinhunter, I too use a 3100 psipressure washer on the wheels. Works great!

Also put a PORSHE letters on the pop-up spoiler. ($10)

Gave baby a nice bath today, I've been promising her for days. Naturally everyone thought I was crazy because she looks immaculate. But we both knew she was a little "dusty", so it was time. ;)

Got busy for a couple of hours and managed to get this done (after a bit of a faff with adjusting and drilling etc). Not sure if I should leave it carbon black or painted speed yellow. Just thinking of what kinda theme/direction I'm leaning towards.....Black and yellow or all yellow?.....Hmmmmm

This week:

Changed oil
Added IPOD cable to CDR220
Swapped cd holder for cubby

And drove it down to historic downtown Galveston to eat at M&M's...

Also... signed up for Boxtoberfest in Fredericksburg!

Today, washing off the grime from a 1700 km trip, often through heavy rain, from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia through New Brunswick, Maine, Mass. and New York State back to Ontario, Canada. The poor baby has never looked more neglected!

Attempted 1st oil change...all fine until I tried to get old filter off. The autozone "cheap" alternative wrench was worthless. Trying to save a few bucks by not buying the Porsche wrench seems to be my mistake. Called my plumber and he was able to gat a channel lock type wrench on it and break it loose without damaging the filter housing.

Next project...attack the rear suspension in hopes of eliminating "clunking" noise.

There is an oil filter wrench for a Dodge? I believe that fits perfectly. I am not at home right now to see the exact model, but maybe someone else can chime in. I bought mine at Pep Boys for less than 5 bucks if I remember correctly. It works great!

...lost my AX season...by .07 seconds.
Last AX, my main rival pipped my by 0.07 seconds. Today, he did it again by the same margin.
Arrrrghhh! But that's racing. Time to start saving up for new tires for next year!

Got lost on purpose and found some pretty nice twisties in the very rural parts of South New Jersey... Nice!

Ian c 08-05-2013 09:21 AM

Went karting whilst testing for drone on the freeway ,
Then cruised pch home stopping at harbor house cafe for brunch .
This was one of them journeys where I was praying for every light to be red .... The car makes an awesome noise now !! :)

After 2 years of ownership and 10,000 miles, I finally changed the oil. I was relieved to find the filter spotless ;)

Rough idle and oil in the intake so replaced AOS. Now have a strong fuel smell by rear passenger tire. She must think if she runs properly I will ignore her.

haz 08-07-2013 02:48 AM

(from my project thread)

So I decided to clean my ac condensors. I just assumed no one has ever bothered to, over its 13 year life. I printed this as a referance Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Front Bumper Removal - 986 / 987

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/3125/faay.jpg

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/4061/uqj2.jpg

The picture does NOT do justice how much crap and crud and pebbles and just thick and smelly mud.... I almost got sick it was so disgusting......

http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/5644/ljq7.jpg

Clean again! I used a brush to get all of the main crud out and also, it's easier when it's dry.. Then power cleaner..

BTW: Is my left front one broke? Look at the bottom left corner, looks like the bottom row is coming off.. does this give any lack in efficiency at all?
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/849/wlwx.jpg

Now...... the scariest discovery......... the right one is half covered in "cement" !! This has GOT to effect a lot, right??
http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/2527/msij.jpg

So, I did this to avoid overheating, from what I read that can happen if they are clogged from filth over the years.

It was a fair DIY job, took 2.5 hrs at a friends house who handed me tools, collected screws and for motivation. Some plastic covers left and right underneith was gone..

All in all, a fun job :)

Jager 08-10-2013 02:52 PM

I had new tires installed on the Jägermobile... Again. I went with Michelin Pilot Super Sport... Again. I really like these tires.

Cleaned out between my radiators and condensors. A lot of debris!

TeamOxford 08-14-2013 02:04 PM

Washed, rinsed and towel dried her. Vacuumed the interior, then cleaned and conditioned her seats.

Drove her down to the City Manager's office to appeal a red-light camera ticket. Succeeded and got the fine rescinded.

Stopped for a nice fish lunch, complete with a glass of Riesling.

Some days, I guess it IS worth unbuckling the straight-jacket! :D

psquared39 08-14-2013 04:52 PM

Put it back on the street after three full days of wrenching.

RR inner CV joint and wheel bearing, ROW m030 kit w/all upper mounts, bump stops, front bearings and adj. rear toe links, rotors/pads/sensors/fluid flush, AOS and throttle body clean.

Getting shop alignment Friday but already extremely happy with this suspension upgrade...

Installed smoked headlight corners. I must say it was much easier then I ever imagined and I didn't even break any of the tabs. I was intimidated to remove the headlights but it took all of 5 mins per side and 2 small cronic breaks hahaha.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1377122827.jpg

Dropped it at the paintshop yesterday for the final pieces of the jigsaw ...

Marty S 08-21-2013 07:57 PM

I had a major maintenance / tune up completed along with a brake fluid flush and replace. The old 99 has 75,0000 miles and the oil filter looked great once cut open.
