it's guys like this that give Boxsters a bad name.

I hate that he says "The porsche engine is very weak and low power". It's no Z06 or 911, but with a power to weight of 13.6 lbs per hp it's equivalent to a 300hp 4,100 lbs car like a Mercedes SL500

If he wants a faster Boxster then he should buy a faster boxster, but don't knock the 2.5 0-60 in 6.0-6.3 is not horrible

EDIT: oh he had a automatic, yeah those were horribly slow, so really his problem is the transmission not the engine

Sorry guys I find it some what interesting. My buddy and I were talking and we decided if my little 2.7 failed we would not stick another p motor in. If you look at the trans it is a dead ringer for a 2wd Passat trans and most Audi motors will bolt up. If or when mine goes I will be putting in a 4.2 or a 2.7t from an Audi in. This one was done poorly but still interesting.

he has no idea what to do with the electronics... and well.. I do..

3k more and its a daily driver that passes smog.

He has two shifters/two computers, because he couldn't figure out how to make Porsche talk Audi.

The 4.2 V8 bolts up to the ALL of our transmissions, now that being said, there are some good 4.2 engines to be had and some bad ones. I'm guessing he chose the $500 variety that are not known for making power.

The CaymanS 6 speed is the Audi V8 transmission..

You will see more of these (promise) and they will be done pro

Just posted this to my buddies facebook page for my engine swap and he knows of a totaled S8 01 with 47k that was hit in the rear at a yard we always do business with. I think this is the 360hp motor! I am looking to get the big Audi shipped down this week for $2200. My swap may be sooner than the failure of my engine.
