Changing Fan Series Resistor

I just received my cooling fan series resistor. When I looked at it, there are 2 wires without any connectors, just wires that has been covered with lead solder....

Question: what do I need to do in order to change the series resistor ? Do I need to solder these 2 wires to somewhere or do they snap into place somewhere ? Do I need to remove the entire fan housing ?

I just wanted to be prepared before opening up. Looking at the pictures for the radiator install, it would look like the entire fan housing needs to come out in order to replace the resistor ?

Thanks for any tips.
