Hot Water Extractor System Anyone?

Living in the Midwest, the carpets in our family cars tend to get very dirty.

Thinking about getting a hot water/extractor cleaning system for the cars and light use around the house. But man are these things expensive: $600 minimum for hot water versions from what I can see.

Has anyone found a relatively low(er) cost, high-quality version.

I use a shop vac, lol. Recently a tech at the tire shop left a big greasy footprint on my tan floor mat. I washed it in the bathtub with dishwashing detergent and put it in the clothes dryer. Didn't let it get too hot though and it looked pretty good in the end.

Why not get something like the Bissell Little Green Machine, I think it's well under $100 at Costco. You'd have to heat your own water, but it does a decent job of pulling water out of home carpet, I'd think it would do even better at something as thing as automotive.

I have a Bissell unit for the house with a hand held hose attachment.

I do the mats with the regular floor unit and then the HH for the smaller areas in the car.

Works like a charm.

I think I spent 300 bucks or less at Costco and of course, bought it mainly for the house.

Good luck.

I have the hoover hot water carpet cleaner. I think for around $200. For floor mats I've just put them on the little clamp things at the car wash and carefully power wash and rinse. Works great! I do have the hose attachment for the hoover but have not been that impressed with the strength of it.... sooo???

google "aztec extractor" or "durrmaid extractor"

Both good units. I use the aztec in my mobile car cleaning business.
