I have a 03 base with tip and like shortbus came from a 350Z. The Z has tons of power and torque but was rough around the edges and doesn't compare to the boxster in handling and overall comfort. As far as the tip in a base model it is a bit sluggish if left in Drive but if you put in manual mode it performs nicely. I do not regret getting a base but would probably get a stick if I had it to do over again.
