If you take a look on the Boxster Spec Racing board you'll see that those guys do some wild paint colors with their stock wheels. They'll paint them bright red or yellow to match their car's color or vinyl graphics. If you only want to use them for track days, then paint them the bright color of your choice. Otherwise, paint them black so that the brake dust doesn't show and you don't have to worry about cleaning them so much then.
Personally I'd polish the outer lip too, just to make it cool.

LA Wheel and Tire will chrome them for you. Well actually it appears you send them like $600 + a large deposit, they send you a set of chromed rims that match your size and style, you send your rims to them and they refund the deposit.

I haven't had success finding many pics on that site. Just the Gallery - which has only 3 cars.
Painting them solid black would definitely be smart, because I really do not keep these clean like I do my good wheels. I would like to see some wild ideas. Or if anyone wants to photoshop some ideas?

What color is your car? Orange or lime green are always favorites of mine. Otherwise, paint them silver and be done with it.
No chrome...that's for Escalades.

the car is black. So are the calipers.
I could paint the barrel blue and the lip yellow and the spokes...? silver? A wavy checkered flag? Or the barrel could be a checkered flag and the spokes and lip could be blue? What would that look like? Yowza!
Hey, I saw a sparkly Z4 this morning. Sparkly as in glittery 'dune buggy' silver paint. Eck.

I stand by my earlier comment...black car = orange or green ala GT3RS. Have fun, they're track wheels!

This thread has a few pictures of what I'm talking about.

Scroll down on the second page and you'll see a black car with bright red wheels and a red car with bright yellow wheels.
Here are your black wheels:
