TGPR Laps with Telemetry Overlay

this was last year at talladega gran prix. trackpedia loaned me their G2X logger so i could add this race track to their database. this lap is on street tires with M030 RoW suspension. for some reason, billy thinks my last name is miller....

Dude, that video is awesome. Most in-car video at track events are utterly boring to me. Telemetry info makes it fascinating to watch. Too bad the RPMs thing wasn't synced up.

thanks! the telemetry setup is great. i didn't have the RPM lead hooked up since i was only borrowing the G2X system. can't wait to own one of these setups. prices are coming down.....

the M030 is a great setup. i've since upgraded some things; the last of the M030 is coming off the car pretty soon. the springs are for sale if you're interested.....

Nice patience on that two week right hander in the middle!
I hate those type of turns! The only really fun spot looks like the sequence leading back onto the start/finish straight. Your set-up is definitely the most nuetral I've seen on a Boxster in one of these videos. I was disappointed at the BrumosU track at Gainesville Dragway. It was just about all tight, second gear stuff, and I was not happy about just pushing the frontend all around the track, the entire day. I know it's a set-up to keep rank amatuers from damaging their cars, but come on.

i trail brake a lot to keep the nose planted. if you look at the G meter, it will go to -1G under braking, then trace around the 1G circle to 1G lateral instead of going back to zero first.

i didn't even have the GT3 sway setup here yet, just straight M030. i've since made some adjustments. one thing that helps a lot is dropping the rear tire pressures to around 29 - 30 and running the front around 34 - 35. that horseshoe turn is a bear! i have a new technique: bomb into it WAY too fast near the center of the track. when the apex closes nail the brake to pivot the car, then gas it and go. it's kind of fun.

this track is actually a great track to learn on for a couple of reasons. first, there's nothing to hit. second, you have to know where to go slow to be fast!

That's how I do 1 at Roebling, in a door car. Tap the brakes at about 50 yds, really more psychological than slowing, turn the car around the center of the turn tightening to a really late apex for one, counter-steer the the slide out of it, pointed toward the outside and brake hard to get it slowed down for two. Rotate the car still under braking and nail it from my turn in point. Try to keep it from tracking off the left on exit, but don't worry too much, or you'll scuff off speed. 1 and 2 are really a longer, faster decreasing radius just like that long right hander on your video. If you don't suck up half the seat upholstery by the apex of three, you didn't do one and two right!! :dance:
Oh, and it was really expensive trying that technique in a Formula Ford..........
