CPO Warranty - Ltd, not Bmp2Bmp

I'm taking the Box in tomorrow to have the lft frt lwr cntrl arm replaced because of a squeaky bushing. Got a call from the SM today. He said the rt rear whl bearing that was replaced last mo was not covered under my CPO. And tomorrow's work would not be covered either. Turns out Porsche considers these "wear out" parts.

Got my CPO booklet out tonight and gave it a good read. While they say they will "repair or replace any factory part that is faulty in material or workmanship under normal use", they list all the items they cover in the CPO warranty and these 2 parts are not listed. The pwr steering pump & resvoir and the pwr window motor that have been replaced recently are, but not the bearing or the cntrl arm. I understand the concept of certain parts wearing out under normal use and not being covered by warranty, but geez my car only has 35K on it. That doesn't seem "normal" to me. Randall tried to eaze my pain when he said Porsches are built to be light weight and strength / reliability are sometimes sacrificed to achieve this goal. That was easier to accept when Porsche was footing the bill for the repairs. Now it sucks.

The SM was nice about it. He said they would only charge me at the warranty rate rather than at the customer rate for both repairs, so he's doing what he can. And the book clearly states what is and isn't covered. Just wanted to make other CPO owners aware of the situation for their future reference. (And I wanted to rant a bit and now I feel better.)

I guess the "trophy wife" needs to go shopping tomorrow. She's generally a lot of fun to be with, so I guess a few bucks out of my pocket is acceptable.
