I had a rear wheel bearing go bad at 30,000 miles. I complained to the Porsche dealer that I've had lesser cars (GM, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi...) with twice that mileage and never had to replace wheel bearings.
Porsche gave me the song and dance that dust can get in the bearing and cause it to wear-out prematurely. But I had to pay for the repair.
