Yeah, CENTECH, cheap _and_ crap. bought 4 or 5 a couple of years ago for about $3 a piece. I think they're all dead by now. At work these multimeters are strictly forbidden. They're supposed to be able to be insulated, fused properly, etc., but they are not, they're actually dangerous in some cases.
Don't skimp on your tools!

I spent maybe $30 at Radio Shack for a multimeter 15 years ago and its still going strong. I just can't see spending $100+ for a Fluke MM or equivalent unless I was a mechanic by profession.
