License Plate Ideas
I was thinking of getting personalized plates but I am having trouble coming up with any good ideas, so I thought I would throw this out to the group.
The only ones I could come up with are :
NINE 86 ( my favorite if it is not taken )
BOLLOCKS ( if it will get past the censors. Need to shorten )
CMLXXXVI ( 986 in roman numerals. Too long )
AGAMISU ( greek word - you don't want to know )
So, any ideas ?
Thanks,
Nick

Nick, I think you can do better! Don't be in a rush.
Do you have a friend in law enforcement? The reason I ask is because you can have them "run" the potential plates you want to see it they are "available". I had a friend do this for me. It was a huge help. My personalized plate should be mailed in about another 2-4 weeks. Takes about 2 months in Illinois. It took the State about 3 weeks to cash the check. Once the check is cashed, you know you are getting your choice.
Good luck, and send some more ideas over for review.

In MA you can just go online to the DMV and type in your idea and they will tell you if it is already taken.
Of the ones you listed, I prefer Nine 86.

bmussatti, I had to run to the currency exchange with a co-worker yesterday and I didn't realize that personalized plates were so cheap in Illinois. I do have a friend in law enforcement who can run plates, so I will run them by him when I have some better ideas. BTW, I had to run to MotorWerks yesterday and the guy in front of me was paying for an oil change for his 911 and sure enough, $110. Have you had any experience with Rizza ? Also, I heard back from PCA, info has been sent to Chicago regional PCA, should get something in the mail soon. Do I have to pay $42 to PCA and another $40 to Chicago ? Email they sent was kind of vague...
wild1poet2, I saw on the CA DMV you can also check availability. No such luck with IL DMV. Guess I'll have to buy my cop buddy a donut and ask him to run some plates for me. )
Thanks,

I have 4 answers:
Yes, yes, and no!
Yes- $110 bucks not a bad deal at Motor Werks- Scott (the Porsche SA) is a good guy to
Yes- you have to send the Chicago region $40 too
No- don't offer your friend a donut...they are pretty sensitive about that kind of stuff!
No- I don't know much about Rizza...to far from my home.

NEW idea
I'm sure FLATSIX has been taken....there's just no way it would still be available in IL or any state.
I just put my order in (CAL DMV) for:
ORC 986S (Orange Coast Region 986 S)
I'm a member of the Orange Coast Region in Zone 8 of PCA.
Perhaps you could do something similar.
Check out your region:
