Getting closer.

All the coolant piping is done. Fuel lines and pump are in. Just a little bit more work and I'll know if my cheap chinese lathe and my 0 experience machining abilities rendered a usable adaptor.

Well, I towed it all the way up to the mountains a couple of weeks ago. Went up there for a rotary event; just a bunch of other rotary nut jobs like me.

While I was up there I got some more body panels from my "dealer" RX7parts.com. So I was able to fill in the rear wheel arches a little bit.

Man this thing is MEAN looking from the stern. Its cause the FD is supposed to have more car behind the rear tires, but I LIKE the way this looks. Too bad for anybody following me... I might kick some rocks up. lol

I also have discovered the rumors are true!!!! 8.5" turbo twist wheels fit on the front axle. And the wheel fitment couldn't be better.

As of now I'm just rebuilding the peripheral port. We'll know in the next week or so if my amateur machining on a Chinese lathe actually worked. LOL

I don't know if this thing is gonna work or shake itself to death. Its been a fun journey regardless.

I've been thinking of a W8 as a backup engine in case the rotary abomination doesn't pan out.

The fact you are making it an FD rules. The Boxster has now become the Fiero of body swap life, lol.

I dragged its sorry butt outside today. I painted the engine bay, but its only the first coat (I like to stack lacquer paints).

Doesn't look too shabby. Almost done with the right side.

Also, here is the obligatory walk around video.

The rear glass really makes the body lines.

Montego blue, but I'm looking at this primer and I'm tempted to paint it white. Just because white paint hides so many imperfections.

Tempted, but still I'm gonna paint it montego blue, cause montego blue with tan interior and bronze wheels is like PEAK FD RX7.

It's great work! If I had the know how and the nuts, I'd make a poor mans 904 out of a 986.
