Mine is like yours is now. I removed the bumper part. It didn't quite match because I ordered it later than the other vinyl. I'll see what you come up with before I attempt something else. 😀

Actually, the bumper piece was okay to do. No hair dryer needed.

Thx! Okay, I cheated with my 911 alu bumper, that spared me a nasty curve
IIRC I had to move the license plate down a bit, so I could fit the alu bumper on the Apex.

concerning that 550 spyder mod from 1999 with the long fenders...here another example with less flaws. And again, my highest respect for being creative. This one is from an Italian Company specialized in design furniture. This one has more "I like"s than "no go"s, IMO.
Definitely an outlaw design.

Things I don't like...e.g.
the trunk grill...there is a nice mold already, why there
the Porsche Emblem has no curve = frown
side mirrors should by bullet design, if replaced
front fog lights...why so flimsy
the Hood handle should be the longer Version, if it has to be
side alu trims are too short...need to be all the way and above the gap

actually just tiny no go's.

Holy sh**! That is a hideous travesty!

What the hell is wrong with people? Why would someone do that to a car? Did the car piss him off?

I like the rims! The rest, not so much. To me it looks like most of it was bolted on just because they had it. I guess I am more or less happy with what came out of the factory. Getting rid of amber is one thing, but this is just too much IMO.

ROFL
yeah, I had to look twice when I saw the back, but i have to admit...it really makes it look retro, if that was the goal. The rear light...meh, if it has to be those, they should have installed them with blinkers showing to the inside.

I wish there was an aftermarket Wood steering Wheel, kind of like this, with airbag (the one shown fits but has no Airbag)

Oh...can't wait to see more, right particlewave

and my RetroMod is still coming up, too. LOL

head lights trim ZWEITE ENTWICKLUNG done (to do: other side).
I might consider painting the exposed unused parts in seal gray.

What's the story on the rings? Did you trim the old ones?

A new set, which I trimmed into rings. The plan was to use the complete width of the rings, but that would have meant a 2 piece solution (see pic before with the front splitter), where I had to destroy my ERSTE ENTWICKLUNG trims for additional pieces. So I decided to shape the new rings in a way, that they look natural and elegant in angles, and are made out of just one piece.

Don't feel bad. I did exactly the same thing a year ago. Bought a set of those and painted them to match. didn't like the look so I was going to trim just like you did. I ruined them and I only had 1 set.

Naw I don't feel bad. Excuse my bad grammar
"...where I WOULD have had to destroy the trims...BUT I didn't...they are still intact.

Too bad you were unlucky trimming them. It is a PITA to shape them equally and without scratches. It takes a lot of time to find the perfect fit. I was wandering around the car like Nakai-san, checking the looks from ALL possible angles, while trimming them carefully down.
I am happy with the outcome, at least equally elegant and less chrome right in your eye.

The new concept with the stripe design is to avoid bigger contrast to keep balance. Therefore I gonna paint my roll-bar covers in a more subtle color, like e.g. gun metallic.

Somehow I drove through some paint and had specs all over my car. Came of the paint pretty easy. The stripes were another matter. One thing led to another and I peeled them off. At least when I take my hardtop off I won't have to wonder about stripes on my trunk.
