Thanks, it wasn't planned. Just an early morning mountain run last summer. No body around so pulled over and took a few pics on the phone.

I'm liking the orange monopola!
Is that a wrap or has it received a color change repaint?
I often think the world would be a better place if the original Boxster had been available with all of the "fun" 914 colors.

Did the whole wash, clay, polish, wax thing and even used some of the new ceramic stuff. She's looking pretty good, don't you think?

And - Hazel got to drive the Boxster for the first time!
Cheers- dj

Looks great and Hazel will be driving it for real someday! I do the same regimen on my 03, although Ive
gone back to carnuba after trying spray ceramic. IMO its more appropriate for a daily, and nothing pops like good ol high quality wax. BTW, my car just passed 164k miles - drive, rinse repeat!

2001 Boxster 2.7L
Fairly new to Boxster ownership. Been driving 911's since 1977. Still have a couple of air-cooled ones. Got to say ... these Boxsters sure do complement the Porsche DNA.
It would not surprise me if old 911 drivers admitted they enjoy the Boxsters as much if not more than the 911's.
They are flat-out fun!!!

It was time for new tyres (tires) - Michelin Pilot Sport 4. I decided it was also time for new rims as well, and found some 17" BBS wheels from a Carrera which had been used perhaps once or twice. Period correct for the 986 S. (I know some convert to 18", but 17" offer a smoother ride and better handling).
Also installed a new Alpine/Focal music system to replace the original Becker CDR220. What a difference!
Regards from Perth
Derek
