I saw a couple of base 2009 PDK cars for like $29k as well, which I think is a great price. Heck, there are still 2006 cars that you see priced at $30k still.

Prices are all over the place,...

Got a PDK 987.2 Boxster - coming here to say hello 986ers!

Hey guys - good to be back!

As some of you may remember, I had a blue 986 manual Boxster. I had purchased it on a whim to see how I'd like the experience, and in fact I really enjoyed...

I test drove an Boxster S with tiptronic today, 987. I was actually very surprised - it's a pretty good transmission and very sporty; in auto it held the gear when I was really on it, and it seemed...

Perfectlap, do you feel the 2006-2008 are only really good to 100k miles in terms of the IMS? Have you seen them fail after that mileage?

From a lot of research for my own personal needs - I've come to the conclusion that at least for me, the 2006 and 2007 Boxsters are the best. 2005, unless you plan to do the IMS upgrade, are to be...

Can you really have fun driving a Tiptronic Porsche?

OK, this isn't a manual versus tiptronic thread - but rather a question for a car driven for fun. Here's my issue:

I, as you may remember - had a manual 986 Boxster that I ended up selling....

That is true - Porsche sold considerably less cars during that economic recession, which in turn means a lot less to choose from now. It is also perhaps bad timing that the 2009's were the first cars...

Interesting comments, guys. I just found it funny that Porsche was ranked up there with Lexus and I've heard numerous times that they are considered bullet proof. Must be the new cars, then.

2009+ cars holding value?

I know many 986 owners sometimes look at the 2009+ cars as an upgrade path.

I've noticed prices have been very high across the board and not too heavy depreciation. Heck, getting a Pdk Boxster or...

What exactly do you feel difference wise between a Boxster and 911?

I drove a 2002 Carrera 4S and a 2007 Carrera 4S, and compared it to driving the Boxster.

They both have more power, but it's gradual. Nothing night and day, both pulled in a similar...

Oh no, I made a mistake. I sold it.

OK, so I had toyed with the idea of selling the Boxster, but really it was only to get a newer one since mine was an 01 base.

Anyway, I went out to get a work truck, got that, and after...
