The 17's are actually fine, but the 18's yield a more aggressive look without going to crazy thin sidewalls. 987 S models came with 19's so those stock wheels are available as well.

Tires are similar....in fact, I was surprised to find the base tires in the '10 had were 55 series on the front (205 17's) and 50 on the rear (235's.) I've haven't owned a car with 55 series tires...

I bought a cheap HID kit as well that worked great (for a different car.) The toughest part was the fitment and alignment.

Yes. A lot of them go "missing" like manuals and spare keys. Fortunately the windscreen can be found on Ebay, as Steve mentioned, for about a third of what it costs to buy it from Porsche.
