986 wheel uprights

Hi

I have a great set of 987 struts that I want to install on a 986..I know the lower hole, where the strut inserts on the front it too small..can 987 wheel carriers be swapped. I am told the rear is the same

I don't know if I can machine out the 986 carriers to make the 987 tubes fit

There are shims or spacers available. Reach out to some of the bigger name companies. My JRZs on the 996 have a sleeve that makes them fit the 996 upright. I’m sure other companies have similar sleeves.

Not sure if the 987 carriers easily swap, but I may have time to check it out on a car next week.
I think that the VW MK6 struts that Woody used have the same diameter as the 987 struts and he successfully milled it to fit. 6 months to live build thread
