Has anyone personally had issues with wheel spacers?

I have a nice set of blox hubcentric spacers I am thinking about adding to my boxster. I have researched a bunch, and every opinion from safe to they are the devil and will kill you! I have good ones I think, and IF installer properly can it cause the wheel bearings to wear faster or any other negatives? Any real life bad experiences when done right?

I am in the process of replacing a very poor set. Not hub centric and very hard to balance the wheel. They came with the car when I got it but were not safe. Looking for a good replacement.

I concur with BYpro: Do some reading.

That's what I did... and chose to not settle for inexpensive ****************ty spacers that would cause the very problems described. No cheap Chinese metal... hub centric was necessary... proper bolts sizes... and quality metal and machining.

I paid ~$270 for my set of four spacers. ECS brand. I did my research (READING) and remain satisfied with my decision.

I am also please with my ECS spacers. I've used them on 2 cars now, and they are a quality product. Will spacers place more load on wheel bearings...sure, but for pure street driving, its a non issue. At the track, you are replacing your wheel bearings more frequently anyway, so nbd.

Alright! ECS spacer fans.

If you've a pair of 23mm or 25mm spacers, with the applicable bolts... I'm open to a straight swap for my pair of 20MMs.

I've used ECS spacers as well.
I've used "Spider" spacers before and they were also very high quality.

Don't use non-hub-centric. ever.
and ALWAYS get correct length (and seat) lug bolts to go with the spacers.

It's notable that I'm not aware of any track organizations who don't allow wheel spacers. That should speak somewhat to their overall "safety record".

No, the bearings are ok. I’m not the owner that put them on so I have no idea how many mile they were on the car.
