This is intriguing...

Obvious question first: Did you try to fill at another pump? Just isolating that the pump nozzle was not the issue...:-)

2nd obvious question: Absolutely nothing goes in? And the tank is not full by chance? Don't get offended, just eliminating possibilities...:-)

Could you try and take a straightened hanger wire and see if it goes in while holding the flapper open with your finger? PLEASE be careful and not drop it in the tank...:-)

I am interested to know what you find out...!
