Brake pad uneven wear

I've just swapped out the 70% worn EBC yellow pads for my newer street pads for the summer season (no track days). Still using the same rotors, and they do have "some wear", but look pretty good.

When I pulled the pads, I noticed that the pads were not wearing parallel to the metal pad substrate, and it is quite obvious (top to bottom). This is happening on the fronts and rears. And now, I'm getting some vibration in the steering wheel when I brake. I can post photos when I get home, but I was just wondering if this is a normal thing for pads that are used on the track, or maybe the caliper bolts are bent? Or maybe the calipers need to be rebuilt? Can I machine the rotors? They are the slotted Meyle rotors I believe.

Rotors allow for ~ 1mm of wear and after that are shot...and cannot be cut / machined under any circumstances per PAG.

It is NOT uncommon especially on track cars for an inner pad to wear more than outer. Porsche’s are a little less noticeable due to calipers having equal pistons on each side of rotor in most modern vehicles. That said, uneven wear w/in a pad is TYPICAL. Typical as in leading and outer edge as well as trailing tend to be chamfered relative to rest of pad. You will see evidence of such in wear markings on rotor and pad and degree of variance is relative to pad composition...I.e. it’ll be much more noticeable on OEM pads than track geared pads like PFC et al.

Good luck

PS - check out the soles of your everyday shoes vs gym shoes vs dress shoes?

Here are a couple pics of the fronts.
Looks like the trailing edge is thinner in my case...
No noticeable difference between average thickness of inner and outer pad.
And yes... they are pretty cooked!

pad taper is common. Mine was much worse than yours. two different size pistons in the caliper are the likely cause. To increase life, flip the pads halfway through

I flip my pads too sometimes, also because in my case, it seems that the outers wear more than the inners, with my theory being that the inners are cooled more by the brake ducts?

After I rebuilt my calipers with new seals and boots, it "seemed" like the wear became more even, but I have nothing to back it up
