My center display did something similar. I ended up disassembling the entire thing and removing and replacing the polarized film on the surface of the LCD which fixed it. I may have replacement parts that you can use as drop in replacements as I ended up buying a couple of dashes for parts. Let me know if you're interested in seeing if they fit. If so I'll dig them out of the parts bin and have look at them.
