I have a 3.6 2001 S which has a 2004 carrera 4s motor in it, the conversion was performed by a professional Porsche race shop, matching the DMEs and getting the software right was very complicated and the whole conversion was very expensive ($21k by previous owner). That being said it is an awesome experience to drive the 986 as is should have been all along. If you are seriously interested I would entertain a $20k offer for my car. This is not a realistic DIY project for anyone without vast knowledge or a substantial wallet.
