Stuiped questions.....

Sorry for the "stuiped" questions guys as I am a new owner I am trying to figure everything out
1. I am in need to replace my windshield. Is an antenna installed in the windshield? It's a 2003 S
2. How do I get my digital speedo to be in the middle gauge as it is on the left on mind?

Thanks guy

Yes it is. I just had mine replaced. I still had the original windshield which for the Phoenix area is impressive (gravel lined freeways is my enemy).

Your glass people know.

You get the speedo in the center if you trade for a pre-2001 model.

The antenna connection:

Here's the USA Parts Catalog page:

Here's a link to the non-USA catalog that I was just curious enough to look up:

Porsche kinda messed up in my opinion by putting the speed number in the left gauge instead of the center gauge on your model year. They put it back in the middle where it belongs for public road cars a year or two later.

And just in case you're wondering, no, you cannot swap out clusters for an older or newer model year version to get the speed reading in the middle. They're model year specific.

The HUGE upsides for the 2003 model make it all worth while though. You have a glovebox AND a rear glass window in your top. That's HUGE.

I'd give up my digital speed location all day long to get both of these things in my car.

I just had a new windshield installed today. What a treat to get rid of that 16 year old sandblasted glass. Driving into the sun was awful.

I just took it to my favorite bodyshop and their glass guy looked after it, including the antenna connection. He even transferred my PCA sticker to the new windshield.

Two of my '99s came from AZ. One from Phoenix, one from Tucson. They both have the crappiest windshields I've ever seen on a Boxster.

Yeah, I hear you on the "sandblasted" comment...mine's similar in age. Can I ask: what did it run you to do the replacement?

When I bought my 2001 2.7 a year or so ago, it was obvious that both the windshield and top had just been replaced.
