Third brake light change

Be aware that on some Boxsters the third light, tail lights and cruise control are all tied together in the fuse box. If you install LED tail lights along with an LED third light the current drops and the cruise control will not work unless you install a resistore at the third light.

Where should the resistor be installed, can it
be close to the harness plug for the 3rd brake light?

Be careful the resister gets hot. Attach it somewhere where heat isn't an issue.

I am new to this forum. And see this older post . The two rubber cylinders that hold the third lite in place fell into the lower space and I would appreciate any help in how to retrieve them. Could not find in the trunk after removing the felt backing. Only the computers, etc. Am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks, Bill

you will have to "fish" it thru the holes in the frame.

I installed mine without a resistor and the cruise works fine.
