true, but we do pay for it in much higher cost of living

I lived in San Diego for a long time and we used to tell prospective employees that part of their pay was in "Sunshine Dollars"!

LA is not much better cost wise, but a lot more crowded. I used to live in Simi Valley, Hermosa Bch, Redondo Bch and Torrance. San Diego is a lot greener and even better weather

That one never worked from me when trying to recruit out of staters. They would come back and say you'd need to give me a 30% to 40% more in salary. Maybe 10% but they'd almost always say no thanks once they figured out what rent/mortgage was going to cost them.
